Éclore Press ("we," "us," or "our") is a children's book publisher based in Palm Springs, California. This policy explains what information we collect through eclorepress.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain English, because you should not need a law degree to understand what happens to your email address.
The short version: we collect your email address only if you give it to us, we use it only to send you the updates you asked for, we never sell it, and you can leave at any time.
Who we are
Éclore Press is a California corporation. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@eclorepress.com. We are the "data controller" for the information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.

What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone for their own marketing.
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics tool (Plausible) works without cookies and never identifies individual visitors.
- We do not build profiles of you or make automated decisions about you.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children. Our books are for kids; our website and email list are for the grown-ups who love them. You must be 16 or older to join our list.
Double opt-in
When you sign up, we send you one confirmation email. You are only added to our list after you click the link in that email. If you never click it, we do not email you again, and the unconfirmed record is deleted after 60 days.
Who helps us (service providers)
A few trusted companies process data on our behalf, under contracts that limit what they may do with it:

Where data moves between the EU and the United States, we rely on our providers' safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep your information
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. When you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you immediately; we retain a minimal suppression record so we do not accidentally email you again. Consent records are kept as long as required to demonstrate compliance.
Your rights
Wherever you live, we honor the following rights. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these are guaranteed to you by law (GDPR); if you are in California or elsewhere, we extend them to you as a matter of policy even where the law does not strictly require us to.
- Access: ask what information we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion: ask us to erase your information.
- Withdraw consent: unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, or by writing to us.
- Portability: receive a copy of the information you gave us in a usable format.
- Objection and restriction: object to or limit certain uses of your information.
- No discrimination: we will never treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these, email hello@eclorepress.com. We respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK and are unhappy with our response, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Security
Our website is served over HTTPS, our email list lives with an ISO 27001 certified provider, and access to it is limited to the two founders, protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top and, if the change affects how we use your email address, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
